A must try

Every time I put it on I get a different feel from it. I thought it smelled like a hospital the first time, the smell of the soap in the bathroom. The 2nd time I wore it I thought the same but it was more of a homey smell, it relaxed me somehow. The 3rd time I fell in love with it!

I’m giving this four stars even though it doesn’t smell like vintage Chanel No. 5. I have a bottle from 35 years ago and this version isn’t the same. I know perfume companies often reformulate fragrances to update them, but this newer version is a little more acrid than vintage Chanel No. 5. The reason why I gave it 4 stars is that this version smells very similar to vintage Aroege by Lanvin, which has also been reformulated and now smells nothing like the original.

ehh, not memorable

it's cute packaging, nice smell but not memorable. not super strong or long lasting

not old

I didn't think I would like it and expected something strong. It's actually light, clean. To me smells like a spiced citrus with a slight vanilla or tonka note on dry down, also has a slight herbal feel. Something about it makes me think of Neutrogena body wash, original brown gel. It's definitely not old but probably not for teens - early twenties.

Pretty fragrance.

Very pretty fragrance, Chanel No.5. I still love it, however, I remember it used to be stronger than it is now.

This smells nothing like the original!

This smells horrible and nothing like it used to. I bought this for my mom for her 70th birthday; she had worn this perfume for as long as I can remember. This smells NOTHING like every bottle she remember.This

An Iconic/Unique Scent

Only vintage enthusiasts & perfume collectors will appreciate No 5. It is highly powdery and floral. The aldehydes are very strong at first (so 1-2 sprays will do the job) after it’s been sitting on the skin it calms down and softens. It’s a mature smell to be sure (I’m 26) my husband says it smells surprisingly good on me! I think every perfume collector should have this iconic scent in their collection.

Disappointed

Just received another bottle and it doesn’t smell like the one I already have at all. So disappointed! It might be a dupe!!!

save your money..

if i could give this 0 stars i would... i received this as a gift and it literally smells like cigarettes and death.. it doesnt smell good and i would definitely save your money on this one... js bc its expensive and designer dont mean its good...

Iconic classic upscale scent

Iconic. I have been wearing this for 40 years! I am Not a grandma!! It is an iconic scent. If you know, you know! I always get compliments when I wear this.

A timeless treasure

It's no wonder to me why this is a world wide favorite. It's truly a timeless treasure of a fragrance. Very sophisticated and yet soft enough for any occasion including a simple aromatherapy. It would require a page onto itself just to add the 80 ingredients to make this magic happen. BTW, CHANEL was and still is the first and only design house too use so many beautiful fragrances to make this one. The bottle is gorgeous and a definite keepsake ( the pure perfume may be purchased in the Baccarat crystal bottle). This dries down beautifully, to me it's almost hypnotic . I do know some younger women who ( at first ) didn't care for it but, after giving it a chance fell in love with it. To many or most of us, it brings back wonderful memories that we cherish. No 5 , Gabriel CHANELs favorite number. This was also the fifth finished product presented to her by her perfumers. Remember that CHANEL started as a Fragrance house and moved up from there.

Perfect Work or School Perfume

This perfume smells super fresh in the “I just showered and wore a fresh laundered set of clothes” way. It’s the perfect work perfume where you want to smell clean and sophisticated but not seductive or overly perfumes. I understand most people are used to floral or gourmand (vanilla) scents but when you wear this you don’t smell like you’re trying too hard, you just smell clean and fresh.
