Even Better Refresh™ Hydrating and Repairing Makeup

Not bad…

Compared to my go-to Armani Luminous Silk, this foundation seems more like a BB cream. Keeps my mature, sensitive skin hydrated and does provide a slight glow plus no breakouts. No chemical sunscreen helps to keep my skin clear. Not sure it ‘becomes one’ with the skin like Armani, but note both can show a few pores on cheeks without a primer. I always receive compliments wearing Armani (good for photos), but this one is good for an everyday alternative. Seems to wear well (I moisturize well underneath so don’t need extra oil in product).

I would say this is moderate-full coverage but doesn’t feel cakey at all. Adds such nice radiance to your skin and doesn’t have a scent which I like. This is my fave everyday foundation!

A bit too dark for me and then oxidized very orange. Patchy application for me.

Hydrating satin medium coverage

The Clinique’s Even Better Refresh Hydrating and Repairing Makeup is a good foundation, but not necessarily in the way the name or claims state. It's hydrating for my combination skin and I liked how it neither makes me oily, nor emphasizes my dry patches. I definitely need to set it with powder and it has the tendency to get absorbed into the skin by end of day, but I wouldn't consider it hydrating enough for a dryer skin than mine. The coverage is natural, smoothing, flattering, but more like light-medium, not buildable to full. I really need to follow-up with a concealer for my dark undereyes and any blemishes. The finish is satin, not flat matte, but without being dewy. Out of the plastic squeeze tube, it's a lightweight cream I prefer to apply with fingers. The sponge just absorbs too much product, while the formula doesn't have enough grip to apply well with a brush. It's also lightweight on the skin, I can barely feel it. The foundation doesn't crease during the day, doesn't transfer too much, but it slowly fades during the day as my skin seems to absorb it. It can withstand a work day, but the coverage diminishes with the hours. Definitely won't reach the 24 hour mark. Shade range is not ideal for me. I'm usually WN 10 in Clinique, but this one comes only in 8 and 12. The WN Meringue was workable, but still a little bit too dark for me. For reference, I'm a MAC NC20.

I love this foundation! It’s lightweight and keeps my skin hydrated. I like that it’s not full coverage so that it looks more natural on my skin. Great product!

not what you think

Wonderful color range but absolutely no coverage. Does not even give skin a glow or moisturized feel. Initially when putting on it feels good on your skin and blends sheer less but only a few minutes later it just feels like your face has oil on it. Any powders on top also slide around. Did nothing to cover any rednsss on face either. I don’t have any acne just some acne scarring and it did not cover these subtle marks.

Dewy and moist finish, good coverage

I love this stuff! I have very dry skin, and am in my 40's. This smoothed out lines and left my skin with a dewy, soft finish that stayed all day. Medium coverage, not cakey but make my skin look uniform. I find most stuff cakey and dry and this is NOT that. Will buy from now on!

Great for my combo skin

I’m so happy I found this foundation. I’ve been on the search for something that will work well with my combo skin that is dry with an oily t-zone. I also wanted something that was long-wearing but natural looking. This foundation fits that bill!

I love this foundation. Its hydrating, makes my skin look flawless and does NOT sit in any fine lines. It is medium coverage which, to my pleasant surprise, is far more flattering than full. I use the Hourglass Veil primer under and blend it with my fingers. Perfection.

Can I give this more than 5 stars?

When I tried Clinique's Even Better Glow I thought I'd found my HG foundation. Don't get me wrong, I still love the EBG and wouldn't want to be without it, but the EB Refresh literally blows every other foundation I've used out of the water (and I don't use drugstore foundations). While I wouldn't call it full coverage - although you might be able to build it up to that - I would say it is a solid medium coverage that gives what I think is the ideal "my skin but better" look: Even, smooth, radiant without being shiny and wet-looking. The finish is stunning and It. Lasts. All. Day. I used it with a sample of the Stellar brilliant primer, put on my makeup at 6 am and at 4pm the only thing that had faded was my lipstick. Did not settle into any fine lines or pores. Seriously. Clinique, thank you, please don't ever discontinue this product!

Absolutely Replenishing!!

This foundation is BEAUTIFUL. Something about it is just so hydrating throughout the day. I find applying with a flat top brush and then smoothing with a sponge gives me the best coverage. I have normal to dry skin, struggling to find a foundation that doesn’t crack after a couple hours. This bad boy stayed on my face for a full 13 hour day without budging at all. All I saw was the slightest whisper of a smile like crease- that’s saying something. Not giving 5 stars because the shade range is pretty awful, and although I’ve heard oxidizing horror stories with this one- I didn’t have an issue. (Minor oxidizing) definitely go a half shade or two lighter

Wow! Go Clinique!!

I’m stunned; Clinique has a foundation, finally, that works beautifully and looks wonderful! There’s no excess gooey-ness; this foundation goes on smoothly with fingers (a plus for me) sponges, or a brush. I bought this as a ‘transition’ foundation from my summer tan to corpse-looking pale cold-weather skin! (I am genuinely olive-toned with redness due to acne being treated with Retin-A) It claims to be “full coverage” and it probably could be if layered, but I’d call it more medium-natural coverage which is perfect for me! (As a Pat McGRATH/Laura Mercier foundation fan, I really do think this foundation is a strong contender, especially since it has no SPF...which is a plus for those of us who are sensitive to chemical sunscreens)
