Bond-Building Oil Serum

Not awful, but too heavy

Nothing can actually repair hair once it is damaged, but the Bumble and bumble hair oil serum is a decent option for adding some nourishment. The product is a very thick heavy sticky... it's castor oil mixed with glycerin and honey, and that perfectly describes the consistency. The dropper is definitely not a good dispensing mechanism, it just can't pick up such a heavy consistency. Surprisingly, it's not weighting down my fine hair, but it's easy to overdose and get greasy stuck out hair. I preferred to use it as a mask than an actual finisher; it does somewhat help with heat protection. I didn't see any improvements on my hair, but I didn't liked any bond building products from other brands either.

Very good repair serum

I love its consistency, oil but still feels like a serum. I use it everyday. It has no silicones, which is a plus.

I love the results when using this product. It is what my hair needs when blow drying in order to avoid some frizz. Makes the hair super smooth.

Excellent hair oil

I use this oil with the Bumble and Bumble Bonding products. It’s a little thicker than Moroccan oil and it has the same fragrance as the rest of the bond line.

Not great but not awful either

I'm not super blown away despite wanting to love this so bad. It was kind of sticky and I didn't see any results after a few weeks of using. Maybe it just wasnt enough time. I agree with comments that say it has to be used with other products, because on its own its sticky & caused my hair to tangle. I love the idea of bond building & I'm definitely going to try the conditioner to see if the texture from that works better with my hair. Also note, I have severely damaged hair & I can't speak for how this would work for someone who has less damage. So I'd say try it but do use an oil or cream with it.

Love it

Smells great and my medium to fine, wavy hair sucked the serum right up. Not too heavy, doesn’t make your hair too oily looking which can be tough for some hair serums. So far, I recommend!

A new essential to my hair-care routine!

My first impression of this product was that it smelled delicious! After using it consistently, my hair has been very soft and moisturized. I have textured hair and it’s definitely helped with frizzy hair. It’s very lightweight and a little can go a long way- at least for my medium length hair!

Pleasantly Suprised

Received a sample on one of my purchases and was pleasantly surprised. It made my hair feel so soft, didn't weigh it down, and tamed my frizz. My hair type is 2c and also bleached. I usually have a really hard time finding products that work for me and it usually takes a few tries of different brands. Glad this kinda just fell into my lap, buying a full size bottle as we speak, and looking at more of their line.

Not What I’d Hoped For

Having loved the Sol de Janeiro Brazilian Glossy Nourishing Hair Oil but not their Milky Leave-In Conditioner, this product seemed like a nice compromise of both formulas. Unfortunately, while it applies better than the Milky Leave-In Conditioner (with a similar viscosity), it also makes my hair feel less silky and more gritty—which is exactly why I’m not a fan of the Milky Leave-In. For reference, I have long, thick (a lot), fine, 2A hair. If you like your hair to have grip/grit, you’ll probably like this product. However, if you’re looking for something that leaves hair feeling soft while also treated and with heat protection, this may not be the holy grail you’re looking for.

I received the Bumble and Bumble Bond-Building Repair Oil Serum in a deluxe trial size with one of my orders. I applied it to mid to ends on wet hair and dried my hair. My hair has never been softer in my life. I went an ordered the full size immediately. 10/10 recommend!
