CANNOT get past the smell. Love the texture and finish but no way is the smell tolerable. Not sure if it was expired or an old batch.

This foundation is very unique. The ingredients make my skin so soft after wearing this, because it feels like a natural and hydrating cream, not foundation. For that reason i love this a lot. What i don’t like about this is the thickness, it’s way to thick and when i apply it on my face it ends up looking cakey and it actually makes my dry skin looks bad, sits on top of my skin and does not blend in. The biggest trick to this foundation is to make it more thin by mixing with your fav face oil. It transforms this foundation and it looks amazing on the skin. This foundation will last me a long time because you only need so little for your whole face. Overall, i think this is an amazing foundation for dry skin( if you mix it with an oil and make your own consistency) i also like this because of how hydrated my skin feels like after wearing it.

The application is great, in terms of the product it’s self is exactly what I was looking for. It’s lightweight and creamy but gives off enough coverage. However the smell is god awful, literally smells like expired MAC lipsticks and is concerning to have that in my face. I might have to look for a different cream foundation.

Love! But doesn't apply like traditional foundatio

Love clean beauty and love this foundation! I have Persian background, olive skin tone, and lucked out colour matching myself with online swatches - 33.5 is perfect for me. Because I am very acne prone I was hesitant to try (yikes, coconut oil!). To prevent breakouts I use a strong BHA exfoliant in the AM (Paula's Choice), and a clean AHA in the PM (Cosrx) - I have been using RMS foundation for over a year now with zero breakouts attributed to this product. It applies differently than traditional foundations - I scoop the smallest amount with the spatula, warm it up between a couple fingers then pat it on my face in areas where I need it. The colour match is so good I don't need to apply it all over. Product applies best on freshly moisturized skin. Do follow up with the RMS translucent powder, using a makeup brush. I am so happy with this product!

natural but buildable foundation. I received a sample of it and was hooked and bought two shades, 00 and 77 for contouring. it looks very natural on my skin and lasts a long time.

I love this foundation. You don’t need a lot literally a pea size amount for your whole face. I like using a damp sponge or just my fingers and it’s such a beautiful finish. I’m combo/oily and I do set my oily areas but this plus the givenchy Libre powder.. chefs kiss. Absolute perfection.

Gute Inhaltsstoffe

Die Inhaltsstoffe sind wirklich sehr hochwertig und toll. Aber der Auftrag ist schwierig. Ich brauche eine ölige Grundlage, damit die Foundation funktioniert. Und gerade im Winter auf trockener Haut setzt sie sich teilweise unschön an trockenen Stellen ab und betont sie. Der UnCover Up Concealer ist für trockene Haut viel besser geeignet.

Ok, so I wore Tarte BB and Amazonian Clay Foundation and Powder for over 10 years. I also had been using Armani Silk Foundation since 2006 and would purchase a bottle to be used on and off since it was the only non-natural foundation that worked with my ultra sensitive skin. Tarte lost my business when they started to cheapen their formula whilst increasing their product line. Then they discontinued the foundations I wore. I X’ed the BB about 3 years ago when it became an overpriced junk.. To make-do I was using leftover Tarte with Hourglass Setting Powder and Dim Light, but then I ran out of Tarte and needed to find a replacement. Trouble. Ilia sounded like a good option - natural with sunscreen - however TO ME it smells like wet/canned dog food; which I don’t want to wear on my face. I went back to Armani Silk but for daily use, I lean towards natural formulas, so Armani was not going to cut it. I spent a ridiculous amount of time internally debating if I should bite the bullet and purchase this product because they don’t sell it at stores and I detest returning things. Also, the Sephora colour-matching either would connect me 33.5 or 11.5 and those colours are drastically different. Unlike the rule of thumb of “when in doubt go a shade lighter”, I sided with 33.5 and I’m so glad I did! I purchased the RMS Setting Powder in shade 2-3 which brings the overall colour to a perfect match and my make up looked great even after an afternoon workout plus 9hrs of use. Also, no make up transfer to my black pandemic mask (like Tarte did). I actually use Josie Maran 47 SPF Perfect/Protect, mixing it with the RMS Un-Cover Foundation plus powder and it becomes the perfect consistency for application and my skin beams happy without shine. I think the price point is just right. Completely worth it. Ps- It’s annoying to read reviews of people complaining about price. If you can’t afford it, shop within your means; not pray for them to drop the price.The Quality drops!

pore clogging

It’s a pretty foundation, which is why I was drawn to it, but after a month of using I found it very pore-clogging. It’s feels thick and is a bit difficult to apply. Once you figure it out, it’s doable and has good coverage. I like that very little goes a long way.

Wanted to love this...

While I’m a big fan of RMS’ uncover up concealer and lip/cheek, the foundation was a flop for me. After a day at work it had settled into my pores on my nose and chin, drawing them to attention. I tried applying with fingers, a foundation brush, and a beauty blender. I also tried over two types of primer, but it wouldn’t hold up to wear in an air conditioned office. I’ll continue to try other RMS products and really appreciate what they’re doing to create clean products with sustainable, recyclable packaging, but I can’t recommend this product.

Perfect foundation if used as directed

I love this foundation. I have oily skin and it lasts really well as long as you follow the directions. 1) Do not use with ANY primer/sunblock/skincare that has silicone because it will slide right off. 2) Use with a damp beauty blender ONLY. 3) Set it with the RMS unpowder - using the puff they provide. Flawless all day coverage. I LOVE IT.
